I’ve been reviving my breathing and meditation practice, starting in the wee hours of the morning before the house wakes up and the whirlwind begins. Most days the whirlwind is within me, and even at 5 a.m. it seems impossible to shut down, go within, and get centered. At these times, we can meet ourselves with anger, “why can’t you just sit in silent thought for two minutes?” Or become defeatist, “why do I get out of bed to do this every morning?”

Instead, we can also accept our human-ness and have a good laugh at the same time. Embrace that three-ring circus in your mind and give it something to laugh at.

If you haven’t seen this yet, here is one of the funniest, (yet effective) guided meditations by Jason Headley with over 3.5 million views.

Next time OM is not cutting it for your daily practice, perhaps one of these to put a smile on your face and some lightness in your heart.

Namaste.
